Enriched air, also known as Nitrox, has higher oxygen content than regular air and is now widely used all over the world. In order to rent enriched air tanks, you will be required to have Enriched Air Diver (EAD) certification.
The air we breathe every day has an oxygen content of 21%, whereas Enriched air has 21-40% oxygen content. When you use Enriched air in diving, your body will accumulate less Nitrogen, so you will have a longer bottom time, and it also reduces your risk of decompression sickness.
On the other hand, higher oxygen content will have the risk of oxygen sickness in deep water. The EAD program will teach you the basics of using enriched air, including how to use your gear with enriched air tanks.
The EAD program includes two dives with enriched air tanks. You can also combine with our AOWD program, and be certified for both.
